Diabetic food recipes

Any newly diagnosed diabetes patient struggles with what to eat, how to exercise, and managing their blood glucose levels. It’s a tricky balancing act, especially for the first few months.

One place to find good diabetic information is Elysian management, which has put together a very solid and information-rich site around just diabetes, diabetic recipes, and diabetes and exercise tips for diabetics.

Food for diabetics

Keeping your blood glucose levels under control is vital - the alternative could be a coma or even death in the short term, and blindness or loss of digits in the longer term. With such an indepth selection of recipes (tasty too, I’ve tried a number of these out), it’s a great resource for any diabetic. Even if you’re not diagnosed and simply looking to have the most balanced diet full of foods that’ll keep you sated and energetic, these recipes will really hit the spot.

Diabetes and exercise

If you’ve just been diagnosed, it can be hard to tell what exercise you can safely do. Many family doctors really aren’t well informed about the issues, and even today some will recommend that you stay away from vigorous exercise. This, however, would be a real mistake as newer studies show that intense exercise several times a week is beneficial in reducing diabetes symptoms. And you’ll have a lot more energy too! Oh, and exercise is great for your love life, which your lover will definitely appreciate.

Check out the site for a lot of good diabetes advice, and then come back here for more!
